Welcome to the EPN CB

The EPN Central Bureau (EPN CB) coordinates and supports the EUREF Permanent GNSS Network (EPN) — a pan-European network of continuously operating GNSS reference stations.

Our Mission

We act as the central information hub for the EPN network, focusing on:

  • Managing the inclusion and maintenance of EPN stations according to technical standards.
  • Coordinating activities between station operators, data centres, and analysis centres.
  • Monitoring station data flow and data quality.
  • Providing documentation, guidelines, and tools for the community.
  • Facilitating open access to GNSS data and products, in line with FAIR principles.

NOTE: The EPN CB does not operate the EPN stations. Each station is managed by its responsible agency or institution.

Why it Matters

The EPN distributes GNSS data, station coordinates, and velocities, allowing national mapping agencies and users to express their GNSS networks in the ETRS89 which forms the backbone for geolocation data on the European territory.
